The Customizer is a Build Gun mode (default key X) used for customizing the material (or texture), color and patterns of buildings and vehicles. The Customizer can also be accessed by clicking the 'Customizer' tab in the build menu.

Colors

There are total 20 color swatches available. Each swatch consists of a primary and secondary color which can be edited. Doing so will also update all objects which use that swatch, except for the custom swatch.

Editing swatch colors

To edit a color swatch, hover over the icon and click 'Edit' at the bottom of it. A 'Select color' window pops out, showing the primary (top) color and the secondary (bottom) color. Use the sliders to edit each color. Or, by clicking on the numbers on the right, a number can be manually entered. Here, a custom-defined HSV color space is used, which is different from the common HSV color space.

A modified color can be saved by clicking the 'save' icon near the bottom right, and a custom preset name can be entered. To restore a particular color swatch, click 'Load Preset' at the bottom middle.

To use a swatch, simply click on it. Alternatively, swatches can be bound to hotbars just like buildings from the build menu. After selecting a swatch, the player will be prompted to paint the target objects.

Materials

Certain architecture buildings can be retextured by changing their material. Attempting to apply a material that is already in use, or onto an incompatible building, will display an 'Invalid customization target' error.

Patterns

Patterns can be applied to Foundations. Each single foundation can only have 1 pattern applied to its center. The color of the applied pattern follows the secondary color of the foundation's swatch. Patterns can be rotated with mouse wheel Middle prior applying. To remove a pattern, choose 'Pattern Removal'.

Applying a different pattern will replace the existing pattern, including the same pattern with different rotation. Applying a same pattern with same rotation will display the 'Customization already applied' error since nothing is changed.

Valid targets

All Foundations, Invert Foundations, Ramps, Double Ramps, Corner Ramps, Inverted Corner Ramps, Quarter Pipes and Inverted Quarter Pipes, and Roofs can be patterned, and not others. Among the valid targets, patterns applied to glass and frame Foundations, Roofs, Quarter Pipes and Inverted Quarter Pipes will not be visible.

Applying a new material to a patterned Foundation also rotates the pattern by rotating the material before applying it.
