HUB Parts are a special item, solely used to construct The HUB, obtained by dismantling the Drop-pod at the start of the game by pressing F, aiming at the Drop-pod and holding down the for one second, by dismantling The HUB anytime afterward, or when the Onboarding had been skipped, will be granted to the pioneer right at the beginning.
Losing HUB Parts
Without the HUB Parts, The HUB cannot be constructed, which is a building essential throughout the whole game. Therefore, the game has certain measures to prevent the player from losing this item:
- HUB Parts are one of few items that cannot be deleted by dragging them into the inventory trash slot. They are also not accepted by the AWESOME Sink.
- If the pioneer carrying the HUB Parts dies, the HUB Parts will come back to the pioneer's inventory upon respawn. All other items are dropped and kept inside a spawned death crate, including the very first Xeno-Zapper.
- In a multiplayer game, if a client player that is carrying HUB Parts disconnects, new HUB Parts will be granted to the first player who respawns. This allows for multiple HUB Parts to be obtained, however, only one HUB can be built at a time.
There is, however, one way to remove HUB Parts: if they are fed to a Lizard Doggo which is then killed, no new HUB Parts will be given to the player (even on respawn or game reload), soft locking the game. Whether new HUB Parts can be acquired in multiplayer is unknown.
